CHI Palm Accelerates Healing of Fractures

Scientific Proof: CHI Palm Accelerates Healing of Fractures… and MORE!

30 Years of Remarkable Results — Backed by Science

For 30 years, owners of the Chi Palm and earlier Infratonic devices have been declaring that these products are highly effective for bone fractures for both relieving pain and accelerating recovery. Many have reported that their doctor had been amazed at the high rate of healing and the completeness of bone repair that has come with Infratonic use. These doctors, while impressed, had no “scientific” reason to accept that CHI products could accelerate bone healing, so looked no further. Now, they have the evidence!

Last Week, Everything Changed

A breakthrough came when a medical student uncovered remarkable published, peer-reviewed studies which show the biochemical mechanisms by which Infratonic Therapy catalyzes accelerated bone healing and much, much more.

Here are two research studies both using the Infrasound 8, a predecessor to the CHI Palm. The first is for stroke recovery. It shows that applying the Infrasound 8 to the brain increased the number of IGF4 cells, showing a solid mechanism for accelerated healing. The study on fracture healing below was inspired by this first one.

2009: Accelerated Stroke Recovery

“Effects of infrasound with low sound pressure level on rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.” The abstract concluded: the number of IGF-1 positive cells of ischemia cortex in 120-min infrasound group increased significantly as compared with that in model group (P<0.01).

Conclusion: Infrasound with low sound pressure level (120 min/d, 7 d) could exert neuroprotective effect in focal cerebral ischemia injury by increasing expression of IGF-1 in brain. [Button #3 of the Infrasound 8, roughly equal to the “Acute” setting on the CHI Palm was used.]

This inspired a second study published in 2013 hypothesized that an increase in IGF-1 would also accelerate bone healing. I asked Grok to summarize this study:

Grok's Summary of the Study

To understand how very slow sound waves, infrasound, affect bone healing, researchers studied rats with broken thigh bones that were held in place with a special brace. The rats were exposed to these gentle sound waves for 30 minutes twice a day for 6 weeks. Scientists then checked how well the bones were healing using X-rays, a special type of bone scan, and by looking at the bone tissue under a microscope. They also tested for certain proteins in the bone area. The results showed that rats exposed to infrasound healed their bones more smoothly and evenly compared to those that weren’t. Their bones were denser and had more mineral content, meaning they were stronger. The tests also revealed more of a protein (CGRP) that helps bones grow and less of another (NPY) that might slow healing. This suggests that CHI Infrasound could help bones heal faster and stronger, possibly by influencing the way nerves and bone cells work together. The signal they chose was what is now called the Acute signal of the CHI Palm. This discovery can help people recover from broken bones more quickly.

I didn’t understand why these chemicals were so significant so I asked GROK 3, “Based on the reported biochemical changes measured in these first two studies what other conditions might devices like the Infrasound 8 and the CHI Palm be beneficial?”

Grok’s response:

The combined effects of increased IGF-1 (from the first study) and increased CGRP/decreased NPY (from the second study, explicitly involving Infrasound 8) suggest that Infrasound 8 could aid recovery in conditions beyond stroke and fracture healing. These include:

  • musculoskeletal injuries (tendinopathies, osteoarthritis),
  • neurological conditions (peripheral nerve injuries, neuropathic pain),
  • cardiovascular diseases (myocardial infarction, peripheral artery disease),
  • chronic wounds (diabetic ulcers, burns),
  • inflammatory disorders (rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis),
  • bone health (osteoporosis, dental implants), and
  • aging-related decline (sarcopenia, cognitive decline).

These benefits stem from enhanced tissue repair, angiogenesis, and reduced sympathetic inhibition, driven by Infrasound 8’s non-invasive, low-frequency stimulation. However, these applications are speculative beyond the studied contexts and require clinical validation.

Mode & Mechanism on How LIPUS Enhances Fracture Repair
LIPUS Mechanism
Despite the above bone healing findings, therapy for bone healing has focused on Ultrasound (LIPUS) rather than Infrasound. Have they not seen this research? Is LIPUS a better option?:

Low Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) for Bone Healing

Systematic review of randomized controlled trials BMJ 2017; 356 doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.j656

Conclusions: Based on moderate to high quality evidence from studies in patients with fresh fracture, LIPUS does not improve outcomes important to patients and probably has no effect on radiographic bone healing. The applicability to other types of fracture or osteotomy is open to debate.

Based on what I have seen over the last 30 years with my family, myself, and many owners of the CHI Palm and older Infratonic devices, CHI offers great pain relief and accelerated fracture recovery.
